Privacy Policy

Project 1882 could not exist without our donors. Therefore, it is important for us that you, as a donor, feel secure about how we handle your personal information.

Now that there is a new EU regulation on data protection (GDPR), which replaces Sweden's Personal Data Act (PuL), we see it as an opportunity to provide even greater security in how your personal information is handled as a donor.

We can proudly say that we meet the requirements of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Read more about the General Data Protection Regulation.

Project 1882 collects and stores personal data based on "legitimate interest" as a legal basis. It is in both the organization's and the donor's interest that this information is saved. Read more about why we store personal data and how we use it under the heading "Purpose".

Handling of Personal Data

When you make a donation, sign a petition, order materials or products, or register as a volunteer, Project 1882 may store the personal information you provide. This information may include names, addresses, social security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, and for donations via direct debit, account numbers. We may also supplement/update names, addresses, social security numbers, and phone numbers afterwards.

We also save your interactions with Project 1882. This means that we save information about donations, signing of petitions, subscriptions, participation in courses, or orders.

Project 1882 retains the information for as long as you are a donor or have any other interaction with the organization, and for another three years. After that, the information is depersonalized, which means that all personal data is deleted.

Project 1882 never collects the following sensitive personal data: religious/philosophical beliefs, political opinions, union membership, sex life, nationality/ethnicity/race, health, biometric information, or genetic data.

Project 1882 stores the information in dedicated systems protected by active security measures (such as firewalls). This is documented and continuously monitored by the organization. Project 1882 never sells personal data to third parties.

You can always contact Project 1882 to have your personal data partially or completely erased.

Purpose

We use personal data to develop and streamline Project 1882's work for animals (according to the organization's mission), develop Project 1882's websites and other services, provide excellent support to our donors/customers, maintain contact with our donors/customers for service and fundraising purposes, remarketing advertising, as well as create (anonymized) statistics and analyses.

Communication

When you make a donation, sign a petition, order materials or products, or register as a volunteer, Project 1882 may contact you via phone/sms or email for service and fundraising purposes. If you do not wish to be contacted through these channels, you can contact us, and we will remove your contact information.
