Project 1882 works globally to make a difference for the animals that are the most exploited and suffer the worst. We work for the chickens, cows, pigs, fish and other animals that need our help – we are here to give them a voice and defend their rights. We have been doing this work since 1882.

Dismantling the factory farms
Animal factories are large-scale industrial operations where animals live in the worst conditions. What all animals have in common is that they are sentient beings and individuals with interests and needs and they should have the right to their own lives. Project 1882 works widely to dismantle the factory farms.
Ending animal testing
Animals subjected to animal testing have the ability to feel physical suffering and experience emotional and mental stress. Therefore, animal testing is unacceptable. Project 1882 wants to make a difference for animals used in experiments by opinion formation, political influence and by sharing information and facts to the public.
Dismantling the fur industry
In the fur industry, animals are raised and killed solely because humans want to dress in their furs. The animals are kept in small cages and their living conditions are very different from the life they are naturally born to have. The reality doesn't have to look like this. Project 1882 works to dismantle the fur industry and the fur trade.
Promoting plant-based
Project 1882 works to accelerate the transition to plant-based food. We do this by inspiring and enabling consumers and companies to choose plant-based options, and through political advocacy.
Political advocacy
Project 1882 strives for a world where animals are respected as sentient beings with the right to their own lives. Through political advocacy, targeted campaigns, and fostering corporate relationships, we work toward achieving this vision.
Corporate work
Companies in the food industry have a great responsibility towards the animals that are raised in animal factories. This as most companies are purchasers of larger amounts of animal products. In order to bring about a real change for the animals, companies need to set concrete demands through clear animal welfare policies. They also need to work with precise vegan goals, which in turn lead to reduced purchases of all types of meat.
Global work
Project 1882 works globally to make a difference for the animals that are the most exploited and suffer the worst. We strive for a world where animals are respected as sentient beings with the right to their own lives. As the suffering the animals are subjected to is not hindered by national borders, we work both locally and globally to make the biggest possible difference for the animals.
Animals as family members
Animals that live with humans must be treated as beloved family members based on the animals' needs. Project 1882 urges anyone who is considering sharing their home with animals to turn to relocation shelters for animals in need of adoption.
Animals as entertainment
Project 1882 works against all forms of exploitation of animals, including for entertainment purposes. Animals are used by humans in the entertainment industry in several different ways. People go to the zoo and look at exotic animals, laugh at their antics in the circus, bet money on them in trotting races and use them in commercials.
